My role

Co-led the industrial design with Anton van Maanen — Anton focused on the 3D shell design and threading, while I led the hardware prototyping (Arduino, ribbon cables, electronics housing), alongside visualisations for the demo video and communications of the concept. The research team published the underlying sensor cloud framework.

The project

EnviS is an integration of configurable wireless sensor network modules with cloud-based web services, which include a database that stores real-time readings from multiple sensor types and a mobile application which provides both historical and real-time data visualisation of sensor readings within user-modelled three-dimensional maps of indoor spaces.

The project was undertaken through RMIT University.
